Solange de Grace
Solange liked to think she was a fairly organized person. She was responsible for schedule keeping and setting up services and she was pretty good about making sure she had the time to do that. But honestly, she didn't think she could handle something as extravagant as this wedding had been. She couldn't even imagine all of the coordination that had to go into all of it with making sure all the food was taken care of, making sure flowers were in place, making sure everything went off perfectly at just the right time. She admitted she was impressed by what Devi had done, asking if she had really put it all together.
“Oh yeah,” she said. “And it was an utter nightmare. The bride and groom were cool enough, but their families…” Solange smiled wryly. It always seemed that the families caused the biggest problems in weddings. “I have never seen a fiercer sibling rivalry between sisters. Me and Padma included. Joelle kicked Elaine out of the bridal party. Actually replaced her last-minute with a cousin, things got so bad. Something about little sister getting married first just didn’t sit so well…”
Solange shook her head, letting out a low whistle. It didn't get much worse than kicking your sister out of your bridal party. She raised her glass in a sort of solute to the bravery of Joelle Blankeney. She was a better woman than Solange if she had the courage to do something like that when needed.
“I will never understand the drive to settle down before thirty,” Devi declared, shaking her head as Solange nodded in agreement. “Like… Who wants to be tied down forever and ever at our age? Different strokes for different folks, I guess.”
Solange shrugged. "I guess some people find the right person a lot earlier in life than most," she said. "But even then, if they are really the right person, marriage can still wait a few years, don't you think?"
She was suddenly curious and looked over to whisper to Devi. "So tell me, which one is the infamous sister of the bride?"
