Solange de Grace
She knew she wasn't the first person to be raised by her grandparents. Tristan wasn't the first person to raised by his uncle either. But somehow the subject of adoptions and surrogate parents had always been something rather touchy with the two of them. Obviously they'd mentioned being raised by other family members in their dates, but they had never talked about it. They had never discussed the logistic of it...what it was like for them, how they had come to be raised by extended family, how it had made them feel. Maybe it was just too personal for the first two months of dating.
In any case she wanted a happy ending for the little boy on the couch. She wanted Gwendoline and Torben to have him because she could see how happy he was with them. He'd talked quite a lot about 'mama' and 'daddy' though she'd begun to think he had those words mixed up. Still he was nothing like the shy, quiet kid Tristan had told her about when he'd first arrived. Being with the couple was doing wonders for him, she was sure of it! She just hoped that this situation would be permanent.
“He does. They will,” Tristan assured her. “If anybody’s cut out for parenting, it’s Gwen and Torben.”
She looked at up at him with a hopeful smile, nodding before letting her head rest against his arm. "You're right...you are completely right. Everything will be fine," she agreed, giving a sigh. "I think we'd better wake him up before Gwendoline gets back. Tango lessons can't last all that long."
She gave Tristan a quick kiss as she rose from her chair to go and wake the sleeping boy who's future was still up in the air.
