Chateau Michaud was one of the only stately homes to be built with a room specifically for entertainment. The hall stretches into a perfect square and the marble floors shine brightly under modern lighting in antique chandeliers. Originally meant as a theatrical space, there is a small stage on one end of the room.

Tonight, the ballroom feels entirely fresh with white linen drapes and table clothes, replacing stuffy brocade hangings. On stage, instead of some classical musician or symphony, there is a DJ playing a healthy mix of modern music and standard dance pieces. The floor is open, ladies and gentlemen!

OOC: Reese and Damien! BFF-ness. BIC:
Damien Blackwood-Michaud
After the party was in full-swing, once the guests were all greeted, as soon as Damien was sure his parents wouldn’t scratch each other’s eyeballs out with post-divorce drama, he actually had a moment to breathe. It was funny because this was supposed to be a day celebrating him, but instead, he’d spent the majority of his time seeing to the tasks at hand and making everyone else comfortable. The way a good host ought to.
And now, Damien could content himself with standing against the stone wall, glass of wine in hand, and a relaxed sort of smile on his lips. This was his party. He’d brought it to fruition. A month of meticulous planning, orchestrating, and unnecessary stress culminated in this big get-together of all the people he loved best in the universe. He could see the MaCarthys and Matvey catching up; every now and then, he could hear Ben’s raucous laugh punctuate the conversation. Ashton and Lucian were on the dance floor and a few times, Damien caught his dad’s eye and smiled. Natalie was immersed in drinks and debate with some of the girls from work and Damien saw flashes of the socialite his mum was in her heyday peeking out in a smile. Toddy was probably off somewhere with Myron; Pierre had taken up the hosting mantel for a bit and was instructing the bartender on the proper way to mix drinks. And then there was Reese. Damien’s best girl was a blessing to have here tonight. Only a week ago, she’d been in a rehabilitation center for her eating disorder. And now she was a back, a blazing and lively force in Damien’s world. He smiled at her from across the room and grabbed a glass of wine for her off of the bar.
“For you, m’dear,” he said, grinning and offering her the drink. “I’m so glad you made it tonight!”

Reese CordovaReese had been released from the rehabilitation center for a week now. She couldn't deny it was wonderful to be out of there. It felt amazing to be able sleep in her own bed again and she was slowly settling back into her life at Opera House. She was a bit surprised that her two month absence didn't seem to be quite the topic of gossip for the ballerinas that she had feared it would be. No one even seemed to mention it really, unless it was tell her they were glad she was back. She had a feeling that Santiago had something to do with that. They also didn't seem to talk about the twleve pounds she had put on while in the rehab center, which Reese was still fretting over slightly. Still, it wasn't nearly as bad as before and it seemed the center had done its job. And besides, she didn't want to think about rehab centers or eating disorders or weight tonight. Tonight was for Damien. He deserved every bit of this amazing party! She saw him now smiling at her across the room. She grinned back at him, waving enthusiatically to the man she was quite proud to call one of her best friends. He had been such an incredible friend the past two months, visiting her practically everyday at the center and helping her through. Now it was her turn to be there and show her support for him. Damien approached with a glass of wine in his hand. “For you, m’dear,” he said, handing her the glass. She took it with a smile, taking a quick sip. "Thank you! You're very kind," she declared teasingly. “I’m so glad you made it tonight!” he said happily, making her smile even bigger. "I wouldn't miss it for the world!" she assured him, taking his hand with her free hand and squeezing it. "I'm so happy things worked out for you, love! And this party is absolutely amazing!" She galnced around the gorgeous ballroom, taking in the lovely white hangings and the open feel of the room, as well as the people who filled it, before grinning up at Damien. "So tell me, is this party everything you hoped it would be? Because if it isn't, I feel it is my duty as a best friend to make thing meet your standards!"

Damien Blackwood-Michaud
In retrospect, this is what Damien wanted his coming-out party to be. Relaxing with friends, music, drinks, and food. The setting didn’t matter. The people here did. That Reese was even here was a blessing, really. The medical staff had been hesitant to let Damien deliver her invitation at first, though he couldn’t imagine why.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world!" she assured him, taking his hand with her free hand and squeezing it. "I'm so happy things worked out for you, love! And this party is absolutely amazing! So tell me, is this party everything you hoped it would be? Because if it isn't, I feel it is my duty as a best friend to make thing meet your standards!"
Damien laughed and rested his cheek against Reese’s.
“You’re precious,” he said. “The party’s great. Promise. This is actually the first moment I’ve gotten to enjoy it. Hosting’s a pain.”
He pulled away, shook his head, and grinned anyways.
“How are you feeling?” he asked her. “Are you cleared to dance yet?”

Reese Cordova
Reese wanted everything to be perfect for Damien. She hadn't gotten the chance to help with the planning since she was in the hospital for so long, but she wanted to what she could in order to make this go smoothly for him. He deserved it after all of the anxiety he'd put himself through. He deserved to know that everyone here was in support of him and loved him for being Damien. She told him directly that if there was anything at the party that did not live up to his expectations (though Ashton and Lucian had done such an amazing job, she didn't think that was possible) that it was her duty as his best friend to fix it.
Damien just lauged, pressing his cheek to hers. “You’re precious,” he teased. “The party’s great. Promise. This is actually the first moment I’ve gotten to enjoy it. Hosting’s a pain.” The smile on his face he pulled away assured that he was loving it anyway and that was enough for Reese, to see her best friend happy and smiling. “How are you feeling? Are you cleared to dance yet?” he asked.
She grinned and nodded. "I actually started back a couple of days ago. And if I can manage that then I'm certain I can handle a dance with the man of the hour," she said brightly. She set the glass aside and grabbed Damien's hand in both of her own, beaming up at him. "What do you say? Will you honor me with a dance," she asked teasingly.
