[/img] Oh the weather outside is frightful…
Even though there’s snow on the ground and a chill in the air, a few brave souls step out onto the balcony every Christmas: some for a solitary smoke, others for a moment of intimacy with a loved one. There’s something magical about the city this time of year. And only from the balcony can you truly see it all.

Dakota Erickson
Wearing a discount grey suit and tie, Dakota made his way up to the balcony where he had spotted Reese heading for. Determined to see her that night, he followed her, but tried not to be too stalker-ish about it. He still couldn't believe how much of a crush he had on her. He thought he was too old to have crushes, but here he was, following Reese around like some love-sick puppy. Smiling to himself, he stuck his hand in his pocket, glad to feel that the Christmas present he'd brought for her was still there. It was nothing fancy. Just a little gold chain with an S shaped wire pendant he'd made out of a paperclip. He hoped she would like it, though.
He was quite proud of himself for worming his way into being her friend. It was a little frustrating being strictly friend-zoned, but he willed himself to play it cool, and wait for an opportune moment to sweep her of her tiny feet. He'd bet she was no heavier than a sack of feathers. A little one, anyway. More like a pillow.
The cold air blasted him when he stepped outside. He was too manly to be cold, and saw Reese standing there, huddled in her soft-looking pea coat. Trying to be casual, and not start grinning and blushing like an idiot, he came up beside her, and playfully nudged her, pretending he didn't notice she was standing there. It was hard to do, and it took all of his will power not to start snickering.
