How the Magic Began ...
Scotty Price grew up in a well off home in Birmingham Michigan, with the best fatherhood figures. This being, James Cagney, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, and Jimmy Stewart. What more did a kid need? Apparently not his father, who was busy with his advertising business, sleeping around, or his mother who took up smoking against the kitchen counter as an occupation, listening to the radio, and doing laundry while gossiping about with the other ladies of the neighborhood. Scotty was born into what seemed like a fifties cultured family. Which explains his obsession for the olden days. The mystery, the magic, romance and chivalry. It wasn't until his father had beat his mother to a bloody mess, and was sent to jail for business scams- that Scott Price knew he would have to carry on the Price name and spruce it up a bit. It was time to be a man.
Scotty had saved up since he was a little man, having a job at the start of eleven up until his manhood years- and with a little help with finanical aid, got himself into The University of Michigan. At first, majoring in business seemed like the right thing to do. Then he realized, that's what everyone was doing! Scott Price knew he was different than everyone. He knew that he wanted to bring something to people that they hadn't seen in a long time. Then he thought about that movie magic. The oldies. The acting. The lines. The everything about what kept him alive for all these years and gave him hope. That's when he knew Directing was what he wanted to do. It gave him all the control he loved.
After graduating with a major in Theatre Performance, Scotty's knack for a good vision got him a place in a graduate program at DePaul University in Chicago. Not even finishing the graduate program after a year, Scotty dropped out after snabbing a job as an assistant Director at one of the theatres. And so, the charm of Scotty became known as he networked. Networking consisted of many things. Gatherings. Rendezvous with the rich and famous. And much badgering. Eventually he landed a gig in the Director's chair at a tiny theatre on the outskirts of Chicago. Luckily, his friends in high places attended, and that's when everyone began taking himself more seriously. Though, Scott Price would never take himself seriously. Life's too short.
After a large production in Chicago, Scott was offered work in New York City, where he worked with the best and finest. A few shows off broadway - landed him shows on Broadway. His works were varied, from musicals, straight shows, and even a couple television episodes of Law and Order. Which, how sweet is that?
In New York City, is where Scott met the first love he had ever had- Julia Baird. She was a casting director, and they had been working behind the same table. The beautiful woman with the smoldering green eyes, stood him up about four times before they had their first date. She was skeptic, and Scotty was consistent. They made love every chance they could, they read one another's minds- it was sickening- and like an old romantic flick, which was what Scott Price really wanted. It wasn't until she caught Julia in bed with one of Scott's good buddies in the business, that Scott realized what a temper he had, and just like how his father he could be.
Wanting a challenge, or a change of scenery because heaven forbid Scotty remain still- which he can't - he flew to London to direct. He began reading materials and taking a break, trying to find the next script that would make a mark. When he found it, put it onstage, it sold out almost every night for a straight four months. Until Scotty, once again, got bored.
That's why he is in Paris now. Accepting the challenge of his life. Operas.
Oh yes, he should add, he's never done one before.
You Want the Moon?
He'll Give You the Moon ...
"Whaddya hear, whaddya say?" Is how Scott Price begins most introductions like that. Just something he does and he has picked up on from a good friend. Scotty doesn't like boring, doesn't like dreary- no. He likes magic. He wants life to be this ongoing movie magic, and tries desperately to make it that way. His visions for scenes, muses, anything- strikes at him on any given point. Scotty likes being called Scotty. Doesn't sound so serious. Though, he can be a serious business man, and does represent himself the best. Scott Price loves women. Women being the key word- not the flimsy boneless women invading the scene, but the old fashioned curvy women. He's a sucker for that, and it shows with how many women he attempts to woo at a time. Though, he would never show disrespect, he just gets bored easily. Which explains Scotty's knack for not remaining still. Whether it be doing work sitting on his desk, prancing around the stage as he talks to his actors, or wiggling his leg- Scott Price is a ball full of energy. The explosion is something inspiring, but on a bad day- and when it gets to a certain point. That ball of bursting energy can turn into a flame of fury and passion within seconds. A bad temper is something he unfortunately grew up seeing, and has somewhat found it within himself in the scariest of ways. The scary obsessive, possessive, and angry side is something he hides away and keeps in a little box in public. Romance, comedy, drama is what makes a production- and what makes the production of his life!
