Your Character’s Name: Rachel (Rae) Scott
Your Character’s Age: 28
Your Character’s Gender: Female
Occupation: Writer/Columnist for an Online Newspaper
Physical Description (or a picture, if you have an actor image selected):
Personality:
The Positive
Growing up virutally alone, even though it sounds sad, can actually be a good thing. Rachel is self-reliant and hard working. She will do what it takes to get the job done, and hardly lets anything stand in her way. She is generally an outgoing and friendly person, always ready with a smile and the ocassional kind word. Rachel also isn't afraid to speak her mind and tell people what's what.
The Negative
Every good side had a bad side, every Positive has a Negative. Though so to anger, Rachel has a terrible temper, and what makes it terrible is that it isn't the sort of temper where she will throw things and yell and scare you half to death. Oh no, this temper is the silent one. She will coordinate, calculate, think on it for days maybe weeks before she silently strikes when you're not expecting anything. Rachel will wait patiently for the perfect opportunity. Her other downfall is a minor case of perfectionism with her writing. She will not submit anything until she's gone through a million rough drafts (okay that's a slight exaggeration) and has stared at the final copy for at least a day, reading and rereading before she will finally submit it.
History:
New York City. One of the hot spots in the United States where all races, religions, and nationalities come together in one big conglomerate. This is where Rachel Virginia Scott was born. Her parents, Rosemary and Victor Scott, were good parents for the most part; attentive and provided well for her in her young years. When Rachel turned 11, her parents decided they'd done their part and begun to focus more on work, hiring a nanny to keep an eye on her while they were gone on long trips and the like. Rachel learned quickly how to properly lay out her clothes and make simple things like cereal (a staple for someone considered not old enough to use a stove yet) and microwave dinners. The nanny did her laundry and was there on the rare ocassionas Rachel did ask for help with something.
As she grew older, Rachel became very independent. When she turned 15 the nanny was gone and she began doing odd jobs after school, like walking the neighbors dogs or picking up a few things at the store, to make money of her own so she could do her own thing. Her parents were gone more often and Rachel hardly spoke to them, only calling every now and again to make sure they were still alive and to let her know that she was still alive as well. During her time in high school Rachel discovered that she loved to write and loved journalism.
In college she got the opportunity to study abroad in Paris on a student Visa for her last two years, while she completed her major in Journalism and during the second year secured a position at an online newpaper to write for them, it was steady income and something she enjoyed. Rachel returned to the States for graduation, but then turned right back around and got her citizenship for France and a little apartment overlooking one of Paris's many parks.
Now at 28 she has been living in Paris for nearly six years and enjoys every minute of it. Strangely enough, she even has a better relationship with her parents now that's she indepent of them and has matured more as an adult.
