Hello, Rouge Writers!
Today was the day we promised to implement all changes to RW. The following changes have been made this week:
Those of you who have not checked in with the administrative staff or have requested that your characters be archived have had your characters archived. AIs have also been taken off the AI list. However, “archived” does not mean “deleted”. You are always welcome to return and reactivate your characters.
I was unable to contract a graphic designer to spruce up the site, so I took some of the matter into my own hands by creating new menu icons. They look much more in-step with our color theme, if I may say so myself. I will hopefully tackle other images on the site over the next few weeks.
Advertisement is under way. We have had minimal success, however, and as such, see no reason to change our character application process. Unlimited characters for everyone! We will continue to advertise, however, and we welcome both old and new members to the site.
One unforeseen change made to RW this month is the addition of an “Employment Agency” and the La Defense section. This addition (found here) allows characters to own, operate, and work at private businesses. It also allows RPers to better keep track of who is who on the site. Hopefully, you will all find this useful!
Another pending change is that RW—like all other Proboards—will be upgraded by Proboards to v.5. We are scheduled to upgrade on January 23, 2013. This change is out of my hands, but it will hopefully make the site more user-friendly.
On another note, the Christmas Gala threads that were missing posts have been properly restored. The gala closes on January 31st, so if you’re still in the holiday spirit, check it out!
One last, quick reminder: please host all of your images on Photobucket, Flickr, or another trusted image-hosting site. This prevents issues with both broken links and with malware.
This has been the first official RW newsletter. I hope everyone is doing well!
Your friendly, neighborhood administrator,
