Hello everyone!
As many of you have noticed, RW's format is a bit different than other RP sites out there. As of right now, we have a limited number of threads available for use at any given time; all threads were created and/or approved by staff members. While it is a preferred method in some circles, it has recently come to my attention that there are other, more liberating, and more effective ways of running an RP forum. Chief among those is creating sub-boards and allowing members to create their own threads.
As such, RW will be undergoing some slight changes; namely, our threads such as "Eiffel Tower" or "Batofar" will be changed into sub-boards and members will be able to create threads there (open and closed RP). In anticipation of some questions you all may have, I've created this Q&A sheet. Feel free to ask any other questions you have in this thread.
Q: When will this change take place?
A: This change will take place April 21st.
Q: Will I lose any content?
A: No. Any old content will be archived; new and active content will be placed in the according sub-board as new threads. I will personally PM you links to these new threads, particularly if you cannot find them.
Q: What does this mean for apartments and/or private businesses?
A: You may still apply for apartments and private businesses. A staff member will create a sub-board specifically for your apartment(s) and/or small business(es).
Q: Must I notify a staff member when a scene is finished?
A: The usual OOC note of "End scene" or "Fin" or whatever catchy thing you do is fine! We will come around and clean up as needed.
Q: What should I title my new threads?
A: Whatever you'd like! Please note either in the title or in an OOC note at the top of your post if the thread is for a specific character or if it is an open scenes. Open scenes should be listed in the open scenes directory.
For any curious souls who want to see what this change will look like, please check out the Everywhere Else Guidelines, the new Moulin Rouge subboard, or the new Le Utilisee subboard.
Any questions can be directed here or via PM.
Happy plotting!
Deanna
