Your Character’s Name: Estella (Stella) Witherspoon
Your Character’s Age: 22
Your Character’s Gender: Female
Occupation: Aspiring author/journalist.
Physical Description (or a picture, if you have an actor image selected):
Personality: Estella is the quite type in public. She prefers to sit back and observe others around her more than being in the middle of it all. But, no one has ever defined her as meek. When spoken to, she is more than unafraid of speaking back. She loves deep, intelligent conversations and craves others who are like minded.
Stella is not known, however, for being friendly. She is never labeled as kind. But, she is always polite and civil to others. Her main goal is to reach her dream and become a published author. She knows that sometimes, to be inspired, you have to create turmoil.
History: Estella grew up in France with her mother, Amelia, and father Gerrard. She was happy, healthy, and taught well. She and her mother were very close. But her mother seemed often to confuse her as more of a sister or best friend rather than a daughter. When her mother became heavily addicted to heroin, she introduced it to Stella. Her father, on the other hand, was very much the “parenting” type. When he caught Estella snorting dope off the back of a toilet seat, he threw her out at age sixteen. Amelia, of course, didn’t try to admit her mistake, and died of an overdose not three weeks later.
Life on the streets of France were hard. But while she was running around, doing her best to survive, she met a young American man whose name was Tyler. He was in France following a rock band that had traveled there. They bonded over their drug of choice, heroine. Tyler ended up staying in France long after the tour was gone. He and Stella (the name he had given her), roughed it for a while until he finally got a job. They then got married and got into a cozy little apartment together by the time she was eighteen years old.
They lived peacefully, obliviously happy for about six months. But, Tyler started messing with the wrong crowd and did a little too much dope one night. He never came home. It wasn’t long before the police came knocking on Stella’s door, asking her to identify the remains of her newly-wed husband.
After that tragic, heartbreaking event, she vowed to quit using drugs. She moved back in with her father, and is working on a novel in memory of her deceased husband.
