Hello, members!
Today marks the beginning of our newest event, Bastille Day! It will run until August 25.
"What is Bastille Day", you might ask. Well, I'll tell you! In France, it is known as La Fête Nationale, which translates to The National Celebration. Though it's true that it takes place on July 14, the same day as the Storming of the Bastille, it actually commemorates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération. It symbolizes the uprising of the modern nation of France and the reconciliation of all of France inside the constitutional monarchy. On this day, the Champs-Élysées is closed down to make way for a military parade, but the night time scene is where the real show is. Firework and laser displays light up the sky around the Eiffel Tower, accompanied by live music and surrounded by games and food.
This event, just like our last one (The Blackout), will have The Event Account open where either Deanna or myself will throw an unexpected wrench into your scene that your characters have to react to. We won't do it for every scene, nor will we tell you which scene we will do it to or when. Note: for scenes Deanna and I do together, we ask that a member PM The Event Account with a suggestion for what crazy, random happenstance should appear in our scene.
That being said, the red ribbon is cut. Have fun and let the festivities begin!
